Memorial services will be held at Crestview Baptist Church on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. with Sheriff Gary Painter officiating.Candy was born on June 30, 1963 in Memphis, TN, to Dorothy and Donald Ashenbramer. She was a wonderful mother, wife, Grandma/Mammie/G-ma and friend. She was the most kind and caring person you would ever meet. She loved to spend time with family and friends but most of all her grandchildren. She loved to be outdoors with her grandchildren tending to her lawn and flowers. She was a proud supporter of the Military and Law Enforcement. She was employed by the Midland County Sheriff's office for 16 years and was a school teacher at Scharbauer Elementary before that. Her laugh was always contagious and she always put others before herself. She was a mother figure and foster parent to many people when they needed a mother the most.She is survived by her children, Raymond Cory Henry and wife Ashley, James William Henry and wife Lily, Amanda Wade and husband Dustin; Love of her life and high school sweetheart James Raymond Henry; siblings, Amy Ashenbramer Janna Ashenbramer, Nissa Ashenbramer, and Julia Childerson; father, Donald Ashenbramer and wife Barbara; grandmother, Helen Ashenbramer; in-laws Nolan, Rebecca and Mike; grandchildren, Katherine Henry, Jannika Henry, Nolan Henry, Olivia Wade and Braileigh Wade. Many Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, nephews, and cousins.She is preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Elaine Ashenbramer, grandfather Jack Ashenbramer and many extended family members.The family would like to express their gratitude towards The Midland County Sheriff's Office and Midland County Honor Guard, her doctors and nurses at MD Anderson, the nurses at Midland Memorial Hospital, Shari, Trini, Mary, Wilson, Kathryn, Kendra, Juanita, Annie, Vanessa, Tonia, Wynter, Megan, Ashley, Tanta and Bertha, all her family and friends who supported her and who have been by her side through the past year, her #Bitchsquad (#pinkladies) Jennifer, Angela, Sandi, Becky, Shari and Thompson, and all her bonus children who loved and cared for her as much as her own children.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Pancreatic Cancer research, MD Anderson, Show of Support, Midland County Sheriff's Office, Midland County Sheriff's Office Association, Midland Fire Department, Midland Police Department, or Hospice of Midland.The family has requested everyone to wear bright colors.
