Candelaria Jimenez, 91, of Big Spring, died on Friday, February 8, 2008, at her residence. A vigil service will be held at 7:00 PM Sunday at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, February 11, 2008 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Rev. James Plagens, pastor of St. Thomas Catholic Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Memorial Park.She was born on June 17, 1916, in Uvalde, Texas and married Rodolfo Jimenez in March 1938 in Uvalde, Texas. He preceded her in death in September 1985.Mrs. Jimenez had lived in Big Spring since 1955. She loved gardening and being outdoors and especially enjoyed spending time with her family. She attended St. Thomas Catholic Church.Survivors include five daughters, Maria Alicia Gonzales and family, Frances Ybarra and family, Felice Vara and family, Yolanda Lee and family, Candy Nunez and family; two sons, Rodolfo Jimenez, Jr. and family, and Jose Manuel Jimenez and family; thirty grandchildren; sixty-eight great grandchildren and fifty-five great great grandchildren.She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Margie J. DeLeon; one granddaughter, Linda Lee; one great grandson, Lauro Padilla and one sister, Josefina S. Torres.
