Camilo T. Ramirez, Sr., 76, of San Angelo, formerly of Big Spring, died on Friday, February 3, 2006, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 7, 2006 at the St. Thomas Catholic Church with Rev. James Plagens, officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Memorial Park. A vigil service will be held Monday, February 6, 2006 at 7:00 PM at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel.He was born on October 5, 1929, in Del Rio, and married Evelia Castaneda.He served in the United States Army from December 8, 1950 to December 2, 1952 and worked for civil service at Webb Air Force Base, the Big Spring VA Hospital and Goodfellow Air Force Base for a total of 30 years service. Upon retiring from civil service he worked for the City of San Angelo Transit System as a Bus Driver for four years. Camilo enjoyed working on cars, doing carpenter work, and enjoyed being just a handy-man. He was a Catholic. Survivors include his wife, Evelia Ramirez of San Angelo; two sons, Felipe Ramirez and wife, Carmen of San Antonio, and Camilo Ramirez, Jr. and wife, Cindy of San Angelo; four daughters, Rachael Amaya of San Antonio, Tammy Bauer and husband, Tom of Frisco, Araceli Hernandez of Laredo, and Bernice Ramirez and husband, Randy Moya of San Angelo; one brother, Felipe Ramirez, Jr. of Dallas; and two sisters, Guadalupe Gonzales and Teodora Ramirez both of Big Spring; thirteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents, Felipe and Teodora Ramirez; two brothers, Jose and Octaviano "Tano" Ramirez; one brother-in-law, Carmen Gonzales, and one sister, Francis Carrillo.Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
