C.E. "Mac" McKenzie, 82, of Stanton, died on Friday, November 6, 2009 in Midland. Visitation will be from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm, Sunday, November 8, 2009 at Gilbreath Funeral Home in Stanton. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 pm, Monday, November 9, 2009 at the Belvue Church of Christ in Stanton with Minister Kendall Tomlinson, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park Peace Chapel in Big Spring.Mac was born March 16, 1927 in Ballinger, Texas to Ola and Thomas McKenzie. He married Edna Ruth Wade on October 27, 1948 in Ballinger. She preceded Mac in death on November 7, 1985. He was a member of the Belvue Church of Christ in Stanton. He has lived in the Stanton community for 52 years.Mac was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He liked gardening, hunting and fishing. He was especially fond of his pecan trees. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and poking fun at Alice and Diann.Survivors include son Herbert Armstrong and wife Alice of Midland; son Dayle McKenzie and wife Leticia of Stanton; son Wade McKenzie and wife Diann of Midland; daughter Edna Ringener and husband Dennis of Stanton; daughter Brenda Duke and husband Dean of Robstown; daughter Lana Ledbetter and husband Dan of Midland; daughter Bonnie Danyluk and husband Dave of Camano Island, Washington; 17 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister Virginia Hovrak of Rosepine, Louisiana; brother Tommy McKenzie of Ballinger; and many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Boyce McKenzie and sister Ruby Wilson.Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Midland, PO Box 2621, Midland, TX 79702 or the Alzheimer's Association, 4400 N Big Spring ST, STE 32, Midland, TX 79705.Pallbearers will be Bobby Robertson, Cody Ringener, Rex Armstrong, Lynn Duke, Jeremy McIntyre and Shawn Baker.Arrangements are under the direction of Gilbreath Funeral Home of Stanton.
