Bruce Michael Edwards, 48, of Midland, went to be with his Lord, Jesus Christ, on Monday morning, January 28, 2013. By his side, was Traci, his wife of 25 years, his daughter, Kelsey, 18, and a room full of his beloved family and friends. Bruce is preceded in death by his grandparents Thelma and Robert Edwards, Reverends Richard and Amy Yunker, and aunt, Sharon and uncle Ken Ellis. He was survived by his parents David and Suzanne Edwards, brother Brett Edwards and wife Tammy and sisters Stephanie Bothwell and husband Ben, Erika Eades and husband Donovan, and Danielle Kreiss and husband Corey, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Kenneth and Linda Smith, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Tammy Choate and husband Richard, Tanya Cartwright and husband John, Tricia Duncan and husband Chris, dear uncles Robert Edwards and Richard Edwards, and numerous nieces, nephews, and dear cousins. A Celebration Service for Bruce is scheduled for Friday, February 1, 2013, 2:00 pm at Mid Cities Community Church with Pastor Don Palmer, officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Thursday, January 31, 2013 at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Brett Edwards, Caleb Edwards, David Arrington, DJ Arrington, Randy Smith, John Cartwright, Kevin Cartwright, Richard Choate, Chris Duncan and Lantz Duncan. Honorary pallbearers will be Ben Bothwell, Donovan Eades, Corey Kreiss, Phillip Martinez, John Alcala, Lenny Long, Willie Long, Brad Rose, Joey Pinard, Fabian Aranda, Mark Hendrickson, Dodd Stringer, Raymond Chambers, Jeff Thummel, Brad Roberts, and Staton Roberts.A memorial fund has been set up for the Edwards family at West Texas National Bank in Midland. Bruce was born in Elkhart, Kansas on June 6, 1964 to David Michael Edwards and Suzanne Martha Edwards. He spent an adventurous childhood in Odessa, TX and grew into a daring young man who was a warrior for Christ. He lived every day to its fullest. His bold personality, booming voice, and contagious smile won the hearts of everyone he met, especially children and youth. He had a gift for making everyone feel special. To his family, he hung the moon. At Tracis Salon, his friendliness brightened everyones day. At Southwest Airlines, he was known for singing loudly and spontaneously. His own unique rendition of Viva Las Vegas will be missed by customers, family and friends! He loved a healthy lifestyle, quick wit, and time at the beach with his family. Most of all, he loved Gods word which was written in his heart and embedded in his mind.
