My prayers and sympathies to the Hicks family. Bruce was a huge part of my life and was the best friend I have ever had. He taught me many lessons about life and to this day I think about the great time we had together. He taught me to be a photographer, dad, and friend to people. Bruce and I were on top of a High School press box with a small battery TV watching DALLAS in the dark the night JR was shot he was such a fan of DALLAS. RIPI love ya.

Bruce and I worked together on the student newspaper at Big Spring High School. Even then he showed remarkable talent and a dedication to getting the right photo. He was funny, generous, and saw things clearly and honestly. I am saddened by his passing and my thoughts are with his family.

Bruce had a love for kids and because the Herald didn't have the warm bodies to take pictures at more than a couple of area football games, Bruce was always quick to step to the plate and make sure there was art to go with the roundups.Bruce was always a pleasure to work with because he truly loved what he did. To his family and many friends, my thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief.
