Brenda Willingham, 68, of Midland, TX, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2024, at 12:16 a.m., surrounded by her loving family. The viewing will be held at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home on Thursday, October 17, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 18, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at One Hope Church of Christ, located at 2503 W. Ohio, Midland, TX.
Brenda Willingham was born in Midland, TX, on January 12, 1956, to Annie Lucille Patterson and Thomas Junior Patterson, both of whom have preceded her in death. She was married to the love of her life, Leon Willingham, who also preceded her in death.
Brenda is survived by her two living sons: James Lloyd (Jamie) Willingham of Midland, TX, and his wife Christy Willingham, and Lonnie Dale Willingham of Blackwell, TX, and his wife Christi Adams Willingham. She was preceded in death by her beloved son Kevin Wayne Willingham, who is now rejoicing in the presence of our Lord.
She is also survived by her siblings: Tommy Joe Patterson; Paula Sue Harrison, married to Kevin Harrison; and Trish Robles, married to Roland Robles. Brenda was preceded in death by her brothers Melton Wayne Patterson, who was married to Rebecca Patterson, and Ronald (Ronnie) Glenn Patterson, who was married to Rhonda Quick Patterson. Additionally, she was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Barbara Patterson. Brenda loved her many nieces and nephews dearly, treasuring the time spent with them and creating joyful memories together.
Brenda was a proud grandmother to nine grandchildren: Jessica Danielle Sanders, married to Charles Daegan Sanders; Nathan Thomas Gardner, married to Ralyn Dale Gardner; Alec Ryan Willingham; Preston Edward Dale Gardner; Sean Patrick Willingham; Landen Chase Willingham; Cera Cay Willingham; Jayme Christine Willingham; and Brett Connor Willingham. She also had five great-grandchildren: Sean Michael Sanders, Kennin Thomas Gardner, James (J.P.) Sanders, Karsyn Randy Gardner, and Leia Renee Sanders, who filled her heart with joy.
A devoted Dallas Cowboys fan, Brenda enjoyed cheering for her team and sharing that passion with her family and friends. She also loved Elvis Presley, often listening to his music and celebrating his timeless talent. Brenda cherished the time spent with her sisters and her brother Tommy on their trips, creating lasting memories filled with much laughter and love. A devoted lover of the outdoors, she enjoyed fishing and marveling at God’s creation. Her beloved dogs, Ginger and Tiny, provided her with comfort and companionship.
Brenda will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love and compassion will live on in the hearts of all who know her. We find solace in the promise of eternal life through our Lord Jesus Christ, knowing that she is now at peace in His embrace.
