It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Brenda Kay Wilson (Dunlap) 75, of Midland, TX. Brenda departed this world on July 18, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of endless love, kindness, and cherished memories.
She was born on December 31, 1949, in Hobbs, NM, to Beryl and Nettie King. She married Roy Gene Wilson, they were married 41 years, together they had 3 children, Roy, Timothy, and Shauna.
Brenda was a devoted homemaker, an active member of the First Methodist Church, and volunteered at AMOS. She enjoyed spending time with family and her grandchildren. Brenda’s pride in her children and grandchildren was limitless, shining through in every story she told, and every smile she shared.
Brenda was known for her unwavering dedication to her family, friends, and community. She was cherished for her warm smile, and by her grandchildren for the fried pork chops she loved to cook at family gatherings. To her grandchildren, she was “NeNe”-more than a nickname, it was a role she filled with grace and love. Her generous spirit touched the lives of many, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Beryl and Nettie King, her first husband, Roy Gene Wilson; her daughter, Shauna WIlson; and her brother, Lyane King; all of whom she now joins in eternal rest.
Brenda is survived by her husband, Spencer Dunlap, along with his children, Scott Dunlap, Kelly Smith (Shane), Lori Dunlap, Traci Steward (Clayton).Grandsons, Cooper Smith and Owen Steward, who she cared for deeply. She is also survived by her 2 sons. Roy Lyane Wilson (Heather) and their children Journey, Delaney, Brooklyn, and Bailey Wilson, of Rogers, AR. Timothy Wilson (Katey) and their children Jonathan, Molly, and Jillian Wilson, of St. Augustine, FL. She also leaves behind her beloved sister, Leta Johnson (Ted) of Seminole, TX and many extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
A memorial service to celebrate Brenda’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 8, 2025, at First Methodist Church (300 N. Main St., Midland, TX 79701)
