Mrs. Bonnie Faye Sorley, died, December 29, 2006 while living in San Antonio, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 2, 2007 at the First Baptist Church of Stanton with Dr. Wayne Grant, son-in-law officiating and Rev. David Harp pastor of First Baptist Church Stanton assisting. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery Stanton. The family will receive friends from 4 PM to 6 PM, Monday, January 1, 2007 at the funeral home. Bonnie Faye was born in 1919 in DeLeon, Texas. She was married to Floyd Sorley for 65 years. Both Bonnie and Floyd were school teachers having lived and worked in several communities across Texas. They taught school for many years in Stanton, Texas and in Big Spring, Texas. When they retired from teaching in 1978 they moved to Lincoln, Nebraska where their youngest son, Tom, was playing football. They remained in Nebraska until 2001 when they moved to San Antonio, Texas. Mr. Sorley died in 2005. Mrs. Sorley was a beloved elementary and middle school teacher who took a personal interest in each of her students. She was active in the Baptist Church in every community where she lived and she was a member of the Eastern Star as well. While in Nebraska, Mrs. Sorley, with her husband, began a ministry to retirees called the LLL Club-Live Longer and Love It- which provided social involvement for older citizens of the community. She was also active in organizing and supervising distribution of food and clothing to needy families through her church. Mrs. Sorley is survived by four children, Veronica Grant of San Antonio, Texas, Herb Sorley of Stanton, Texas, Mike Sorley of Brownwood, Texas, and Tom Sorley of Danville, California. Her family includes seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Gideons International, Big Spring Camp #U42060, P.O.
