Following a brief illness and surrounded by his family, Bobby Wayne Roman, entered his heavenly home on April 21, 2009. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 pm on Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at Kelview Heights Baptist Church at 10:00 am on Thursday, April 23, 2009 with Rev. Jerry Berry officiating. Interment will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, April 23, 2009 at Trinity Memorial Park in Big Spring. Bobby was born in Knott, Texas on October 10, 1929 to Fred and Velma Reid Roman. In 1948, he married the love of his life, Alice Merle Chapman in Knott, Texas. On November 23, 2008, Bobby and his sweetheart celebrated sixty years of marriage. After working as office manager at McMahon Concrete Company for thirty-seven years, he retired in 1990. Bobby was a kind, generous and loving man with a strong faith and love for his Lord and Savior. His greatest treasurers were family and friends and he always greeted them with his 'one of a kind' smile. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and 'going to the farm' and deeply loved his country. He is survived by his wife, Alice Merle Roman; daughter, Sharon Diane Marcum and husband David of Midland; son, Alan Wayne Roman and wife Cathey of Midland; sister, Joyce Walker of Big Spring; grandsons, John Minnick and wife Tamara of Midland, Jeffrey Roman and wife Kristen of Weatherford, Josh Marcum and wife Kimberly of Aubrey and Stephen Marcum of Midland; granddaughter, Jennifer Jobe and husband Jason of Grapevine; great-grandchildren, Rylee and Braden Marcum. He is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Velma Roman, one brother, Jerry Roman and one grandson, Michael Minnick. Pallbearers will be Bill Buskirk, Tom Stephan, Jerry Dunn, Drew Wyrick, Ed Slate, Howard Williams, Charlie Lytle and Bobby Gene Fishback. In lieu of flowers memorials should be directed to Kelview Heights Baptist Church Benevolence Fund, 402 W. Scharbauer, Midland, Texas.
