Bobby Wayne New

Bobby Wayne New, 87 of Midland, TX, passed away on Monday, January 22, 2024).

A visitation and memorial service will begin at 1:00 pm on Friday, January 26, 2024 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory in Midland, TX.

Visitation and burial will begin at noon on Monday, January 29, 2024 at Magnolia Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens in Magnolia, TX.

Bobby was born on April 30, 1936 in Ropesville, TX to Emery and Lola New.  Bobby lived his early life in west Texas attending New Moore schools in Lynn County for his early education and he graduated from Denver City High School.  Following graduation, he served as an MP in the U. S. Marine Corp stationed in Okinawa, Japan and Camp Pendleton, CA.   Bobby received an honorable discharge and returned to his home in Texas.  He married Inez Green on June 14, 1957.  He always said they got married on Flag Day so that he could remember their anniversary.  Bobby and Inez started their life together in Denver City where he was active in the Jaycees.

Bobby always shared that he had lived a full and happy life. He built meaningful memories with family while camping, fishing, and playing cards. He actively supported his kids whether it was cheering from the stands or coaching and being an Indian princess dad. While he worked hard to provide for his family, he loved to play as well. He was always up for a game of catch, watching a baseball game, and was always making everyone laugh.

Bobby is survived by his wife of 5 years, Beverlene Morgan of Midland, TX; son,  brother Don and wife Brenda New of Waller, TX; Garland New and wife Elizabeth of Alvin, TX; daughter Nancy Sue Dumas and Matt Givens of Montgomery Texas; daughter Lisa New Freeland and husband John Stimac of Ashburn, VA; Grandchildren, Cody Dumas of Houston, TX, Chelsea Freeland of Ashville, NC; Shelbie New and wife Megian of Alvin, TX, Rowdy Freeland of  Tehachapi, California, Heather Martin and husband Aaron of Alvin, TX ; Ken Williams of Alvin, TX, Great grandchildren Natalie, Ryan and Trent Martin.  He also leaves behind his Morgan family in Midland, TX.

Bobby is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 55 years, Inez; his parents, brother Jerry New; sister, JoAnn Ray; and sister Linda Heimal.
