Bobby Charles Jenkins, 83, passed away in the early morning hours of May 2, 2016 with his bride of 58 years by his side. Services will be Thursday, May 5, 2016 at 10:00 at Crestview Baptist Church with graveside to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.Bobby Jenkins was born January 27, 1933 to Mary and Lee Jenkins in Big Spring, Texas. He married Ann Sims December 27, 1957 in the Methodist Church in Stanton. Bob attended Howard College and Texas Tech. He worked for 26 years for Sinclair Oil/Arco Oil as an accountant in Big Spring, Monahans, Hobbs, Roswell and Midland retiring in 1985. Bob was a veteran of the US Army, Finance Corp during the Korean War 1953-1955 and served in Germany. Father of 2 boys, Bob loved working with his hands and as a jack of all trades passed those skills down to both boys. He fixed, repaired, built, and rebuilt anything from engines to construction. Bob loved the Lord and was an active member of Crestview Baptist Church. He preferred serving behind the scenes and could be found most Sundays in the church office “counting beans”. He also had served as a representative for Crestview at the Circle 6 Ranch in Stanton. After retirement he pursued a passion for music by taking piano lessons and learning the ukulele and working on multiple projects around the house. To most who knew Bob he was shy, quiet, soft spoken and reserved but when with his family could be found with loud voice (to be heard over his sons), arguing a point, discussing a procedure, laughing about past experiences or planning his next project. He is survived by his wife Ann Jenkins; son, Denny Jenkins and wife, Jayle of Midland; son, Ron Jenkins and wife, Gayle of Midland; granddaughter, Rylee Friesen and husband, Justin of Cleburne; grandson, Jeremy Tarter and wife, Nancy of Midland; and great-granddaughters, Jordyn Tarter and Bella Tarter. He is preceded in death by his parents Lee and Mary Jenkins; brother, Doyle Jenkins; sister, Peggy Long and grandson, Jody TarterThe family would like to express gratitude toward longtime physicians Dr. Shelton Viney and Dr. David Watkins for their care and friendship. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the following: Gifts of Hope Inc, 2006 W Tennessee Ave, Midland TX 79701; Circle 6 Ranch, P.O.
