Bobby Aaron Norris was born on March 3, 1992 to Paula and David in Odessa, Texas. We lived on a special street that had special neighbors. Aaron had a special friend when he was young and that was Kayla (Long) Hatley.During his elementary years he played GMFL under coaches Paul Edwards and Bobby Kelley. He played “little dribblers” basketball with Coach Mike McNeely and made all-stars and went to state tournament in East Texas with Coach Kerry Hatley. You can still walk into the Greenwood field house and see him and his brother’s picture on the wall for track athlete of the year in 2005 and 2009 respectively. His track career would take him to the state track meet on the 4 x 200 with Josh, Zach and Jarret. The school record is held by these boys. He made Region 100 meter finals two years in a row plus region qualifier in long jump and 4 x 100 relay. Sure enough Aaron took it all the way and we went on to win the game. He went on to get All-District in offense and defense.Aaron was a finalist for the Lone Star Athlete of the year and was voted most athletic male at Greenwood in 2010. He was selected to play in the High School All-Star football game in Lubbock.Aaron went on to Midland College and proudly we saw him walk the stage at Texas State. We as a family had many memorable trips to Caribbean and Hawaii with our friends Kelly, Kevin, Kolten, Karah Northcutt, along with our trips to Yellowstone and Ruidoso.Aaron loved his friends whether it was watching basketball or starting bonfires outback. He loved his friends. They loved Mom’s breakfast and dad’s cinnamon toastHe and his brother were avid hunters thanks to Uncle Dan. If you looked at his room you could get lost in the mounts and the bear rugs that cost Uncle Dan a pretty penny. They spent many a day walking Dan’s lease and his land outside of Coahoma. He loved his Grenny and Peep—they would go fishing and would never miss a track meet or football game of Aaron’s and Adam’s.Thanks to the Northcutt family he went on a “Walk to Emmaus”. After his “walk” you could see a change. He said at the closing he wanted his friends to go.Aaron never met a stranger—he had a great personality. Which I might add that was a little bit of Dad and a whole lot of Mom.Aaron has Romans 12:12 tattoo 12 Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. We believe in 11 Corinthians 5:6-8.Therefore we are always confident and know that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord. 7 For we live by faith, not by sight. 8 We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord.Luke 23:42-4342Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when You come into Your kingdom!” 43 And Jesus said to him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.”…We believe our son went to heaven when his soul left and we believe with all our heart we will see him again—it is not goodbye but just see you later. We were blessed to have him with us for 24 years.Aaron is survived by parents, David and Paula; brother, David Adam wife Stacy and their daughters, Kelsie and McKenzie; sister, Jennifer Ann and children Lindsey, Jeremy, Katie and John Daniel; grandparent, Bobby Dodson; Uncle, Dan Dodson in Coahoma Texas; uncle Billy Jack and Aunt Jeannie Darden, Betty and Charles Parrish, James and Jean Bobo, Sunshine Bobo along with numerous cousins; aunt, Sherry Norris and husband, Pat and children Jay, Julie and Nikki along with their Dad, Jim Hudman and wife, Christi; uncle, Raymond Norris and wife, Debbie; great aunt, Helen Neil; special aunt, Sharon Dodson along with her child, Ronna and husband Andy, and children Starlee and Sunny; and special friend, Alexis Castillo from Sweetwater. He is preceded in death by grandparents Dave and Artie Norris, (Grenny) Winnie Dodson, Ronnie Dodson, Aunt Nancy.A Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at Nalley -Pickle & Welch Funeral Home in Midland from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.
