Nita, 80, of Stanton, TX, passed away on May 5th, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, May 10th, 2017 at the First Methodist Church in Stanton, Texas, with Pastor Charlie Stevens officiating. Interment will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery. She was born on January 5th, 1937 in Hale Center, Texas to Rufus Celmore and Lou Nettie Davis. She grew up in Hale Center, Texas and graduated from Hale Center High School in 1955. She participated in FHA and the pep squad from 1952 until her graduation, excelling with top scores ranging from 82 to 94 in all classes. She married Billy Ross Hamilton on August 25th, 1955 in Hale Center, Texas. He preceded her in death on November 1st, 2001. Brothers and sisters preceding her in death were, R. C, Louis Limmroth, and son, Randall Ross Hamilton.Nita and Bill soon became residents of Midland, Texas after their marriage and started their family with the birth of their daughter, Rebecca Lynn and son, Randall Ross. They later resided in Canyon, Texas where Bill attended college. They relocated to Gatesville, Texas where both Nita and Bill worked at the Gatesville Correction Facility for Young Men. Nita an office clerk and Bill a social worker counselor. They moved to Fort Davis, Texas, where Bill continued counseling. They later relocated to Stanton, Texas. They called it home and have remained in Stanton for the remainder of their lives. Nita worked in the office of the Martin County Courthouse. She was an outstanding member of the First Methodist Church of Stanton which she lovingly referred to as her other family. She worked with her hands and checked out library books which she would read all within or slightly over a month (each over 300 pages). Then she would return and repeat .She had a passion for baking and preparing the best meals ever. She was soft spoken and held to her opinions and dedicated herself to church, friends, and family. She never asked for anything, but always asked “What can I do for you?” She loved her two dogs, Lucy and Max, and would religiously place them in doggie seats in her car and take them to the groomer. They loved the ride and she enjoyed spoiling them.Survivors include: Daughter Rebecca Moore and daughter-in-law Rosie Hamilton. Brother-in-law Gene Connor, and Jack Limmroth. Grandchildren Jason and Jacob Moore, Kami Isaacks, and Noah Hamilton. Great grandchildren Jonah, Bryson, Ross, and Kobe Moore, Ace Paul Randall, and Parker Madelyn Elise Issacks. Six nieces: Lou Spinks Pearson, Jeannine Celey, Stacy Spinks, Francis Davis, Nell Vickers, and Nancy Jezek. Four Nephews: Danny Spinks, Tracey Spinks, Bobby Connor, and Tommy Connor.It was Nita’s wish to kindly request memorials be made to Evergreen Cemetery, Martin County Library, or the Senior Center, all of whom are located in Stanton, Texas. It is the families wish to donate to Hospice of Midland.Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Moore, Jacob Moore, Roger Scoggins, Jonah Moore, Noah Hamilton, and Tracey Spinks. Our family is grateful to the loving care provided by Sheryl Spinks, niece-in-law, for her assistance in her role as a caregiver on behalf of her hospice expertise, The Hospice of Midland staff, and the nurses and staff of Senior Care in Midland, Texas.Arrangements are under the direction of Gilbreath Funeral Home of Stanton.,
