Bobbie Jeanette Thorne passed away on September 13, 2024. Bobbie was born on December 15, 1926, in a small farming community known as Hudson near May, Texas. She grew up in Brown County and graduated from May High School.
Bobbie married James Thorne in 1946, and they resided in Brownwood before moving to Midland in the early 1950’s. They had one daughter, Janet. Bobbie was a devoted wife and mother and known as “Nannie” to her beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren. She and her daughter loved each other very much and went everywhere together. They loved to shop.
Most people in Midland know Bobbie through her many years of work at Sloan Bagwell Furniture. She was a talented, hard-working professional, who loved her career. She had an eye for what would work well in a room and sold furniture to so many Midlanders. Bobbie loved getting to know people and had many friends, always ready to lend a helping hand when anyone needed it.
She is preceded in death by her husband, her mother and father Floyd and Ella Mae Ribble, and her beloved sister and brother-in-law Tacoma and W.J. Boler.
She is survived by her brother, Brooks Ribble and his wife Laura of May, TX; daughter, Janet Allison; grandson Chris Jauz, and his wife Tina and their children Cooper and Avery; grandson Shawn Jauz and his daughter Camryn, all of Midland, TX. She had a very large family and is survived by many nieces and nephews whom she loved like her own.
Visitation will take place from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, September 20, 2024 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held Saturday, September 21, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at the Branch at npw. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
