Blanche Margaret Tyler Alcorn, age 82, passed away May 4, 2015. She was born April 17, 1933, in DeRoache, Arkansas, to George Ollie Tyler and Clemia Pemberton Tyler. She graduated from Magnet Cove, Arkansas, High School in 1950.In Midland, Blanche worked for various oil companies, including Gulf Oil Corporation and Mobil Oil Company, while raising her children and being a devoted homemaker.She was a member of the Rusk and Goddard PTA, the Lee Rebel Booster Club, and was a confidant to most of all Lee Athletes and Rebelettes. She was a devoted member of the First Christian Church and an active member of Al-Anon for 51 years.She is preceded in death by her parents, seven sisters and one brother.She is survived by her husband, John Scott Alcorn; daughter, Sally Alcorn Haliburton and husband, Steve, of Lubbock, TX; son Tyler Charles Alcorn and wife, Anita and granddaughters, Taylor and Rylie Alcorn, all of Cypress, TX; sister-in-law, Margeruite Tyler, of Hot Springs, AR; lifetime best friend, Doris Terry Miller; and numerous nieces and nephews.A memorial service will be held at 10:30 am, Thursday, May 7, 2015 at First Christian Church in Midland.Honorary Pallbearers will be Tim Bryson, Baker Hallford, Ernie Johnson, Dan Kowert, James Morton, Steve Pitts, Jerry Sides and Ken Sneed.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home of Midland.
