Blake Alan Nichols, of Midland, passed away on Tuesday, July 31, 2007 after an accidental car wreck in New Mexico. Blake, 22, was born on July 23, 1985 in Abilene, Texas to Ray and Pam Nichols.Blake was a charismatic Young man who absolutely adored life and lived it to the fullest. He moved to Midland in 1993, where he started the second grade at Anson Jones Elementary and continued on to graduate from Midland Lee High School in 2004. He was quite a traveler, attending Midland College, McMurry University along with South plains community college. Throughout his highschool years, He was involved in football, basketball and baseball where Blake, known to many as fearless, spent some of his happiest moments. He had recently begun working for Weatherford SOS in May 2007, a job that he truly had grown to love. He obtained such a "go getter" attitude especially when it came to doing the things he cherished most such as playing on the "Wasted Talent" softball team, hunting, and fishing. He could not go a day without his cat, and found an utter passion for his cars, of which he was known by many.Blake was such a compassionate son, a protective brother, an adored grandson, nephew, cousin, member of Mid-Cites Community Church, as well as a loyal friend to several. Blake enjoyed to be surrounded by those he loved and who loved him in return and will be missed tremendously.Survivors include parents, Ray and Pam Nichols of Midland; two sisters, Haley Nichols, freshman at Midland Lee, and Kourtney Nichols, who attends ACU in Abilene; maternal grandparents, Lee Roy and Wyvonne Sells of Sweetwater; paternal grandparents Loyd and Suzy Nichols of Snyder; Kathleen and Charles Bennett of Rotan; uncles and aunts Mike and Debra Sells of Sweetwater, Dean and Sandy Nichols of Pampa; Wayne and Kathy Nichols of Rotan; and several cousins.Pall Bearers are as follows, Chance Brinker, John Evans, Patrick Floyd, Cameron Phillips, Justin Smith, Brent Stroud, Cody Thompson, and Daniel West. Honorary pall bearers include: Cody Frazier, Ju'an Hickman, Freddy Jones, Brandon Rogers, Marc Shatzer, Trent Thompson, and Matthew Tully. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, August 3, 2007 at the Mid-Cities Community Church in Midland with Rev. Daniel Stephens officiating. We are so very sorry for your lost, we will continue to pray for you and your family so that the Lord will give you the strength that you need right now, we lost a niece about going on 5 years now and you never forget, you just learn to remember the good times together.(remember the happy times).

It's been a very long time since we've seen you (high school in Sweetwater!). We can't begin to know what to say or what you must be feeling and going through. Just know that we are praying for you and your family's peace. From reading about your son, he was evidently an incredible young man! Praying for you...

Pam, Ray, Kourtney and Haley, Our deepest desire is to somehow find the right words to comfort you in this incomprehensible, tragic, and shocking loss of your beloved Blake. Our words will fall short, but we hope that you are able to feel our loving prayers and our desire to embrace you in this time of profound and life-altering loss. We will remember Blake, forever. We will remember the halls and grounds of Parker, Alamo and Lee and our children who made those years the happy, crazy, funny, and yes, stressful times. We will remember the car, the game, the grin. Blake We love you so much and you are going to be missed so much. But, we all must understand God wanted you now for a reason, and one day we will get to be with you again. We can wait!! Ray, Pam, Kourtney and Haley we know what a hard time yall are going through and we are very sorry and wish that there was something we can do. Yall are such amazing and strong people and we want yall to know that we love yall and wish there was something we could do to take the pain away. Again, Blake we love you and will see you again soon.

How much you will be missed is just so hard to be put in words. Wish I could have gotten to see you more. I have always loved you and just know You are still and forever in my heart.

I can't believe your gone Blake, just the other day I came across an old picture when Brittney, Elise, you, & I were all hanging out and we were sprawled out on my couch and you had the biggest smile on your face. It's hard to know that we will never see that smile again until one day we meet up in heaven. Everyone loved you Blake and you never met a stranger. I hope you are up in heaven playin' ball with the angels ;) I will be praying for your family and may God comfort them. We will never forget you Blake!

So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. Mark 16:19 Although nothing can be said to fully comfort you through this hard time, I pray you find peace through family and friends. I recall playing baseball with Blake on Ray's team years ago. Although smaller and about 2 years younger than everyone, he was a fierce and driven competitor. I extend my every condolence and wish the very best for Ray, Pam, Kourtney, Haley and family. We'll miss you, Blake!

Ray and Pam, as I have mentioned to you before, I have always tho't of Blake as one of the sweetest, most polite young men I've ever met. Our paths have crossed several times recently, and he never walked by without a "Hello", and that sweet smile. I will miss it! You all are in our hearts and prayers!

I am truly sorry for yalls loss! I can not say how sorry I am, I know it will be hard! But dont let your faith die! God had a reason why he was ready for Blake. And we will get to see him again one day! He is smiling at yall and he will be with yall wherever yall go! No one will forget him! He was a great person! But I am sorry again!

Ray & Pam, It goes without saying that Blake was truely loved by all. That beautiful smile and those bright blue eyes will remain a fond memory in everyones heart. I had known Blake through a friend and I was at that game talked about in the paper in Duncanville...Blake was such a sweet guy and I know he will be very missed. My thoughts and prayers are with all his friends and family - God bless yall. Love ya Blake, and i'll see you later.
