Durham Family-I was saddened today to hear of Blake's passing. The years that Blake played football at Southwestern were very special to my husband and me. Blake was a good person, a good student, and a great friend to many on the team. You may not be aware, but I did lose Paul in October, also very unexpectedly. My thoughts and prayers are with you.Sherrie Sharp

So many wonderful memories--Olsen, Crockett, Tascosa; sports and more sports; dinners and cookouts; vegetable garden ( he loved the squash); fishing, hunting, skiing, many road trips, graduation, Oklahoma, the Pondie; his help and expertise, his kindness, his smile and his hugs. I'm so glad he was and is a part of my life and memories. I will miss him as will everyone else who knew him. My love to all of you. Sandra

My heart goes out to the Durhams family. Blake was always a dear friend to me. We went to Young Life together in highschool and I have the fondest memories of our Christian times together. We played sports against each other, but were always close friends off the field. Blake was always caring of others and inspiration to me to be happy in life. Always with a smile. I'm proud and blessed to have had Blake as a great friend. He will be truly missed, my thoughts and prayers go out to his family. Words can not say enough.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

Dear Durhams,Too young to be gone from earth and yet we all know Blake is making his mark in Heaven. I am sorry for your loss but know his memories will remain strong. Having lost my sister this time last year, I know the urge to pick up the phone is strong, but the conversations can still be had. Blake remains full of life even for those of us who haven't seen him since High School! All my love to your family, Ann Clary Fancher Old

I am deeply deeply sadden by the death of one of my favorite cousins. So many memories of him when we were children and especially as we became grown-ups. He was like the brother I never had. We would get together every Wednesday night and have jam sessions at our home for at least 2 years straight, we called it “Wednesday Night Revivals”. We even wrote some music of our own (it was terrible, but fun) and played a few songs at his uncle’s club on Open Jam Night. Blake was a wonderful cousin, friend, and guitar player! I couldn’t believe what a good ear he had, all I had to do is hum a song and he could play it. When my father passed, Blake was the only one who brought food to comfort us, that was the kind of guy he was. He was one of the most considerate, loving, caring, protective and loyal people I know. We have lost such a great family member who will never be forgotten. Rest in peace Blake, we love you!

My deepest sympathies to the Durham family. Blake was a childhood friend of mine from Amarillo. He was one of the most thoughtful, kind-hearted people I have ever known. I have never forgotten that wonderful and infectious smile of his. May God's love and peace surround his family and friends during this most difficult time.

My heart is broke over the passing of Blake. He was a close friend for as far back as my memory goes. We went to school together at Olsen Park Elementary, Crockett Jr high, Tascosa High School and then on to Southwestern were we lived together, played football together, and showed the Okies how some Texas boys could crack heads both on off the field!! He was so tough, so smart, incredibly loyal and as everyone has mentioned he treated everyone with great dignity and respect. God really made a special person when he made Blake and he will be sorely missed. Can't wait to see him again when we are reunited with our Heavenly Father!!God Bless,Randy Messer

Blake was one of those special individuals that made you feel like you had know him for a long time. He and I had some great times going and getting dinners and making a surprise visit to feed some friend. He was always concerned about how he might help someone in need. He was such a special individual. He will truly be missed. I feel special to have know Blake. We were so very different in so many ways. But we did have that bond for helping others. Even after moving from Amarillo,Tx. He would call to see how I was doing. He loved his family and was concerned for their health and safety. He was so concerned about what he could do in his life to make a difference in the future. Blake did make a difference in many people's lives while he spent his time on this earth. My friend Blake was so active in his life and made a difference to many. I know if I saw him today he would tell me, ALL IS WELL, ALL IS WELL. My wife and I will miss you.

I remember Blake as a great Dad. Even though as teenagers we were loud and probably not always the most pleasant people to be around, he seemed to have so much patience with us and we were always welcome at the Durham house. I have so many fond memories there. I will always remember his garage fridge that was fully stocked with root beer and he always let us play (terribly) on his drum set.Thank you, Blake, for always welcoming us with a smile, providing a safe and fun home for us kids, and being a secondary Dad to all of us. We will all miss you so much.

I was both shocked & saddened to her of Blake's passing. He was an amazing guy with a smile as big as Texas & a hug that you knew you would be greeted with the minute he saw you. We went to church together growing up and although we went to different H.S. we usually ended up at the same place. I was blessed to call Blake my friend. Durham Family, I pray for your peace and comfort during these days & hope that you can take some peace knowing what happiness Blake brought to his friends. God be with each of you during this time....Sincerely,Ansley (Payne) Heinsohn

I am so sorry for your loss!! Blake was a great man. I have not seen him in so long. What I remember about Blake from high school is that he was a gigantic ball of energy and always had a Texas size smile and a handshake at the ready for everyone. Blake hit so hard in football and was there to pick me up those big meat hooks of his and his smile. But then he did it all over again:-). You will be missed Blake. RIP.

Dear Durham Family, What I remember best about Blake was his wonderful smile. He was always glad to see you and he made you feel special no matter how long it had been since you had last seen each other. I know it must be terribly hard to understand why he had to leave. Just know how blessed you were to have had such a son, such a brother. God bless you all.

Blake was a good friend from back in the Crockett Junior High Days and when we worked together on my step mom's family farm in Panhandle, Texas. There ar many fond memories that I have hanging out with Blake. I know that there is nothing I can say to ease the pain but know that I am grieving along with your family.
