B. “Jack” and Bernice Calhoun Howell. He married Geneva Jones July 31, 1951 in Knott, Texas.Hamy came to Big Spring as a young boy and attended Big Spring schools. He worked at Cosden for 40 years, retiring in 1990, and was a member of the Cosden 25 Year Club. He enjoyed fishing with his best friend, J. E. Peugh.Survivors include his wife, Geneva Howell of Big Spring; three daughters, Connie Traylor and husband, Jim of Midland, Sandra Yeager and husband, Rick of Odessa, and Nancy Daniel and husband, Marty of San Angelo; nine grandchildren, Christy Scoggins and husband, Billy, Brandy Fowler and husband, Eric Clutter, Dustin Traylor and wife, Liz, Amber Stewart and husband, Dustin, Nick Traylor and wife, Allison, Megan Smith and husband Jordan, Nicole Jones and husband, Jay, Lindsey Nelson and husband, Josh, and Whitney Martin and husband, Larry; and seventeen great-grandchildren, Heather, Cody, Deacon, Lacy, Hunter, Paisley, Wyatt, Presley, Slayden, Lorali, Holden, Camden, Wally, Payton, Nathan, Bryden, Brylee; and a sister-in-law, Joyce Howell.He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Melvin Howell, Ladale Howell, and Kenneth Howell and wife, Mary Jo; and a sister, Joyce Elaine Riddle.The family suggests memorials to St. Jude Children’s Hospital at www.stjude.orgArrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home and Crematory.
