On January 8, 2008 Billy Ray Allred entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior. He passed peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, January 11 at the Downtown Church of Christ with Van Pendergrass officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Stanton. The family will receive friends, Thursday, January 10 from 6 PM to 8 PM at the funeral home. Bill was born on January 16, 1936 to William Juel ?Buddy? and Clara Elsie Allred in Big Spring, Texas. He attended school at Knott, Texas before moving to the Lenorah Community in 1946 and then finished high school at Courtney in 1955. On July 6, 1956 he married Bonnie Green. They were blessed with 51 years together and three children; son Kevy Clay and wife Nancy of Early, Texas, son, Kelvin Ray ?Bimbo? and wife Danon of Stanton; daughter, Tamala Kay Smith and husband Todd of Stanton. Bill's greatest joy was his 5 grandchildren. They are Brandy Bader and husband Reid of Bellville, Dusty Allred of Stanton, Ty Smith of Midland, Tasha Creech and husband Bryan of Lenorah and Kiley Allred of College Station. He is also survived by one brother, Jack Allred of Stanton and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, W.J. and Clara Elsie Allred and sister, Mildred Haggard. Bill worked at Cap Rock Electric for 38 years before retiring in September 1996. He also farmed and raised cattle. He loved to fish and spend time with his children and grandchildren at their cabin on Oak Creek Lake in Blackwell, Texas. He also loved watching them participate in sporting activities and coached Little League Baseball. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to Home Hospice, 111 E. 7th Ste. A, Big Spring, Texas 79720, the American Cancer Society, rolyn Brooks, P.O.
