Billy Lee Dillard, 85, of Midland, died on Friday, May 17, 2013, in a local hospital. Memorial services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at First Presbyterian Church, with Dr. Steve Schorr and Rev. Shannon Weisenfels, officiating.He was born on October 24, 1927, in Lueders, Texas, to Lela Jones and Thomas Lee Dillard. Billy attended Baylor University and Hardin Simmons University. He moved to Midland in 1952 and worked for Core Laboratories, Inc., retiring in 1989. Billy married Jeanette Stallworth on August 6, 1955, in Rosebud, Texas.Billy loved fishing, boating, and woodworking. He was especially good at teaching young people to water ski and fish. He never met a stranger and you would always find him talking to anyone, or helping anyone with any need they might have. Billy was a master craftsman who taught both of his sons to love woodworking.Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Dillard of Midland; two sons, David Andrew Dillard of Midland and Jeffrey Scott Dillard of Kyle, Texas; a brother-in-law, Bill Stallworth; and a sister-in-law, Marilyn Dillard, both of Houston; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Jim Dillard.
