Billy Jack "B.J." Hume, 36, of Midland, passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2009 in Midland. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home Chapel in Midland with Ty Morris and Bob Porterfield, officiating. Billy was born January 10, 1973 in Odessa to Jackie and Ronald Hume Sr. He was an outstanding professional diesel mechanic who was noted for his skills around the Permian Basin. He also had a passion for country music, (he knew the words to every song that came on), eighteen-wheelers and his family. He graduated from Lee High School in 1992. Immediately following graduation he joined the US Army serving until 1996. He married Dianne Jolly on October 7, 2000 at their home in Midland County. Billy was employed at C&W Transport Company as a diesel mechanic. He was a member of the Bad Boys Group at AA with sobriety for over three years for which his family was very proud of. Billy's wife, two children and family loved him immensely and will forever miss him.Survivors include wife, Dianne Hume of Midland; daughter, Laura Erica Peek of Midland; son, James Michael Peek III of Midland; mother, Jackie Simmons of Ohio; father, Ronald Hume Sr. of Marshall; brother, Ronald Hume, Jr. of Midland; grandparents, B.J. and Phyllis Swindle of Abilene; and niece, Domnique Hume of Tom Bean, Texas.He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Louis Simmons and Billy and Dianne's unborn child, Benjamin Jack Hume.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Dianne Hume %Heritage USA Federal Credit Union, 5507 W.
