Billy “Bill” Robert Dolan

Billy Robert Dolan, 69 of Midland, Texas, passed away on August 8, 2024. Services will be held at 10:00am on August 17, 2024 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch in Midland, Texas.

Billy Robert Dolan “Bill” was born on March 12, 1955 in San Angelo, Texas to Wayne and Martha Dolan. Bill grew up in Big Lake, Texas where he graduated from Reagan County High School. After graduating he went to work in the oil industry where he roughnecked and drilled for FWA. Bill then moved on to a long career working for John L. Cox in Midland, Texas. Bill finished his long career as a Drilling Consultant in many States throughout the US.

In his down time Bill enjoyed fishing trips with his friends, most of whom he had the privilege of meeting while working in the oil industry. Bill also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and keeping up with their extracurricular activities. Bill loved to Bar-B-Q, have fish fry’s and will always be remembered for his legendary pumpkin pie, delicious Butterfinger ice cream and the mouthwatering fudge that he and his wife, Sue would make year after year for loved ones.

Bill is survived by his wife Sue Dolan of 35 years, his son James Dolan and wife Rachel of Stanton, daughter Julie Grissom and husband Bear of Breckenridge and son James Haney and wife Lee Ann of Midland.  He is survived by his siblings John Dolan and his wife Susan of Georgetown, Mike Dolan and his wife Kathy of Mertzon, Sue Davidson of Georgetown, Waynette Dolan and a special friend Jan Baldwin of Cibolo.

Bill left behind 8 grandchildren: Corey Haney and his wife Saranne, Matthew Haney and his wife Chasity, Christopher Haney and his wife Chyanne, Amber Haney, Mason Dolan, Jade Grissom, Jaxon Dolan and Ryker Dolan. Bill also had 6 great grandchildren, Keller Haney, Adalee Haney, Ainslee Haney, Norah Haney, Asher Haney and Styles Haney.

Bill Dolan is preceded in death by his father Wayne Dolan, mother Martha Dolan and sister Martha “Nan” Yarbro.

The family would like to express their gratitude towards Medical Center Hospital ICU Staff, Hospice, friends and a heartfelt thanks to Tammy Solley with Medical Center Hospital.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
