Billie Vernell Campbell, 72, of Big Spring, died on Saturday, November 20, 2004, in an Odessa care facility. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Monday, November 22, 2004 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Dr. Claude Craven, retired Baptist minister, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.She was born on June 27, 1932, in Big Spring, Texas and married Thomas Wendell Campbell on April 3, 1954 in Big Spring.Mrs. Capmbell was a lifelong resident of Big Spring. She worked with her husband in the family business, Campbell Cement Contractors. She enjoyed bowling, cooking, sewing, crocheting, traveling and playing games with her family. She was a member of Berea Baptist Church.Survivors include her husband, Thomas Wendell Campbell of Big Spring; two daughters, Toni Cline of San Antonio and Nena Cruz of Big Spring; one son, Tommy Wren Campbell of Big Spring; three sisters, Jerrie Murphy of Ackerly, Sharon Wallace of Big Spring and Carolyn Payne of Tucson, Arizona; two brothers, Ronnie Payne and Don Payne both of Big Spring; eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.
