Billie Gross Walker, 77, of Big Spring, died on Tuesday, November 28, 2006, in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, December 1, 2006 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Rev. Monroe Teeters, pastor of Salem Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow at the Salem Cemetery.The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.She was born on April 18, 1929, in Big Spring, Texas and married Grady Walker on November 26, 1947 in Big Spring, Texas. He preceded her in death on August 23, 2001.Mrs. Walker worked for Big Spring Independent School District in the High School Cafeteria for a number of years and for Walls Factory Outlet for a number of years. She and Grady owned and operated Grady Walker LP Gas Co. until retiring. She was a member of Salem Baptist Church. She enjoyed traveling and was a member of the Western Drifters Travel Club and the Triple L. The joys of her life were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.Survivors include her children, Arlis Walker and wife, Sherry of Buda, Ramona Williams and husband, Larry of Snyder, Twila Denson and husband, Kerry of Coleman and Tim Walker and wife, Amanda of Georgetown; two brothers, A. J. Gross of Waco and Don Gross of Riverside, California; three sisters, Doris Maneval of Lendon, Washington, Bettie Pettus and LaVerne Patrick both of Big Spring; six grandchildren, Charles Denson and wife, Sandie, LaDonna Denson, Tye LaQuey and wife, Sarah, Taggert Walker, Danielle Walker and Sydney Walker; four great grandchildren, Madison Smith, Ryley Denson, Corban LaQuey and Taylor Timberlake; a special niece, Carol Gustin and a special friend, Minnie Kennedy; and numerous other nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one sister and one brother.The family suggests memorials be made to your favorite charity.Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
