Billie G. \Bill\ Powell, 88, of Big Spring, died Sunday, March 17, 2013, in a local nursing home. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at the Peace Chapel at Trinity Memorial Park with Rev. Joey Bacon, officiating.He was born March 3, 1925, in Sylvester, Texas and married LaVerne Cook June 16, 1946 in Sweetwater, Texas. She preceded him in death April 1, 2009.Bill served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II. He came to Big Spring in 1957 from Sweetwater and worked as a motor repairman and an electrician, retiring in 1992. He was a member of the Church of Christ.Survivors include two daughters, Shelia Stockwell and husband, T. C. and Sherry Roman and husband, David all of Big Spring; four grandchildren, Keri Sanchez and husband, Joe of Pflugerville, Amy Nunn and husband, Paul of Marble Falls, Gregg Roman and wife, Jessica and Blaine Roman all of Big Spring; seven great-grandchildren, Brianna Sanchez, Joey Sanchez, Jaci Sanchez, Gavin Nunn, Addison Nunn, Lyssa Roman and Aaralyn Roman. He was also preceded in death by his parents; seven sisters; four brothers; and a granddaughter, Julie Ann Stockwell.The family suggests memorials be made to Trinity Baptist Church Building Fund, P.
