Billie Louise Dyer, of Jal, New Mexico, died in Midland, TX on February 22, 2016. A visitation will be held from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm, Friday, February 26, 2016 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home in Midland. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am (MST), Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Jal Cemetery in Jal, New Mexico.Billie was born in Putnam, TX on December 16, 1929 to Mr. and Mrs. Armstrong. She moved to Jal, NM in 1940 and graduated from Jal High School. Billie married Bobby Dyer on April 17, 1945 in Kermit, TX to whom she remained married for 68 years until his passing in 2013. She and Bobby were the loving parents of their two boys, Bruce and Mike Dyer.During her years in Jal, Billie worked tirelessly as a stay at home mother. She also volunteered as a “pink lady” at the Jal Hospital and was a voting aide. Billie owned and operated a news stand while in Jal. In 1983, Bobby and Billie moved to Midland, TX where Bobby was a loyal employee of El Paso Natural Gas Co. as part of his 45 year tenure there.Billie enjoyed tending to her roses with Bobby and supporting their beloved Permian Panthers together. She was a member at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church.Billie is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby; parents; sons Bruce and Mike Dyer; and her siblings, Clarence, Nell, Curtis, Fran, Geraldine and F.L.She is survived by three grandchildren, Kelli Davis (Brett), Stacie Parr (Jim) and Chris Dyer (D’Les); and six great grandchildren.Billie’s infectious smile and witty sense of humor will be greatly missed.In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to St. Mark’s United Methodist Church at 1701 N.
