It is a very sad day for alot of us! Bill hired me in September of 1975 at Coahoma State Bank. He was not only my boss, he became my friend, and friends are like GOLD! He ALWAYS called me on my birthday. The phone would ring, I'd answer and he would always say "Happy Birthday Dorothy Lanelle." Memories are so precious and no one can take them from you. You are all in our prayers. Lanelle Witt

Dear family, I loved Bill like a brother, as we were closest in age among the cousins. We played together growing up. He was truly a real gentle- man and exemplary Christian. I know you will all miss him very much. He left you all such a fine example to follow. Our love and prayers are with you all. Ann & Lannie

Dear Mischa & Eddie I am so sorry for your loss Bill & Marshallene were so dear to me when I worked for Marshallene in the insurance office when I was very young. I always wondered what had become of each of you. Your Mom and Dad always made me feel like I was special. I wish I could have met the rest of Bill's family. I am sure they are as great as he was. My prayer is that the Lord will comfort you during this time as well as all the Bill Read family
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

Eddie, I doubt that you remember me but, several years ago when I was editor of the Avalanche-Journal, I had lunch with you and your dad at the Lubbock Club. Bill came to Moran during the time I was in the army. I didn't know him for a long time, but I--like so many others--admired him as a banker, a friend and as a man whose Christian behavior was subtle but inspirational. My prayers are with you and your family. Burle Pettit Editor Emeritus Lubbock Avalanche-Journal

My thoughts and prayers are with Mr Read's family and I am sadden that he has gone to heaven before I had the chance to vist with him again.
