Bill Norris, 96, of Abilene, formerly of Big Spring, passed away peacefully Thursday, October 31, 2024. He will lie in state Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home from 9:00am until 2:00pm with the family receiving friends from 1:00 – 2:00 pm. Graveside services with Naval Honors will follow at 2:30 pm at Trinity Memorial Park.
Bill was born November 1, 1927 in Lamesa, Texas to parents Charlie Bernard Norris and Bessie Beatrice (Davis) Norris. He had been a resident of Big Spring since 1960 and worked as a Service Tech for Energas for 28 years when he retired. Bill was a veteran of the United States Navy and received a World War II Victory Medal. He married Annie Lucille Carter June 9, 1950 in Lovington, New Mexico. He was a Deacon at Midway Baptist Church.
Bill is survived by his daughter Rhonda Maltsberger, husband Gary; grandson Nicholas Reagan and wife Britney and three great-grandchildren, Grayson, Bryson and Addyson.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and two sisters, Charlyne Wyatt and Owita Norris.
