Emerson, Bill G., 76, of Big Spring, died on Sunday, October 8, 2000, in a local nursing home. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 11, 2000, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Dr. Claude Craven, retired Baptist minister and Rev. Ken McMeans, pastor of College Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park. He was born on December 17, 1923 in Barnsdoll, Oklahoma, the son of Harlin and Ila Coffee Emerson. He married Jean Kennedy on May 19, 1984 in Big Spring, Texas. Mr. Emerson was a car salesman for Tidwell Chevrolet and Jack Lewis Buick & Cadillac. He attended College Baptist Church and was a member and Past Master of Staked Plains Lodge #598 A.F. & A.M. Survivors include his wife, Jean Emerson of Big Spring; a son, Scott Emerson and wife, Lisa, of Big Spring; a daughter, Janie Leary of Midland; a step-son, Ray Kennedy and wife, Barbara, of Big Spring; his mother-in-law, Reba Rogan of Big Spring; a sister, Margie Hatley of Burbank, California; his nephews, Wallace Emerson and Jerry Emerson both of Tyler, Bill Jack Emerson of Houston and Larry Hatley and Ken Hatley both of Burbank, California; his nieces, Patsy Green of Palestine, Kathy Hanifin of Troup and Judy Byrd and husband, Ralph, of Tyler and his grandchildren, Tony Emerson, Alex Emerson, Nicholas Emerson, Brodie Blissard, Stefanie Kennedy and Michael Richardson. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Tony Emerson; 3 brothers, Wallace,
