Bill "B.E." Russell, 81, of Midland passed away at Midland Memorial Hospital on Thursday, May 7, 2009. Memorial services have been scheduled for 5:00 pm on Monday, May 11, 2009 at Midland Bible Church, with Pastor Vince Loftis officiating. He was born July 22, 1927 in Cisco, Texas to O.J. and Helen McIntyre Russell. He married Carolyn June on August 10, 1951 in Sweetwater, Texas. The two moved to Midland in 1952. Bill worked for Baroid prior to establishing his own mud logging company and later self-employed as a contract pumper and also a participant as a member of Permian Basin Farmers Market. He had been a member of Midland Bible Church since 1975. He served in the mission field at El Comedore, Mexico in the late 1960's and 1970's. He was an avid fisherman and loved desserts. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Judson Russell and Wendell Russell and grandson, Steve Plumlee, sisters, Marjorie Butts and Helen Lowe. Survivors include his wife, June Russell of Midland; daughters, Patricia "Patti" Owens and husband Jerry of Midland and Ann White and husband John of Stanton; granddaughters, Lynn Owens of San Angelo and Diann Gause of College Station; grandson, Clay White of Midland; sister Catherine Miller of Dallas.
