Bettye L. Parrish, 87, of Coahoma, passed away Thursday, February 2, 2023. She will lie in state Saturday, February 4, 2023 from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Bettye was born January 7, 1936 in Kilgore, Texas to parents James Floyd Bobo and Alma Lou (Owens) Bobo. She and her husband Charles Parrish were residents of Howard County since 1949. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Coahoma. Bettye was employed by Coahoma ISD for over 26 years.
Bettye is survived by her husband Charles; daughter Connie Shaw and husband Mike of Coahoma; son James Lee Parrish of Big Spring; and daughter Donna Rich and husband Daryl of Westbrook; a sister-in-law: Bobbie Nell Smith of Cleburne; one brother-in-law: Gary Parrish of Big Spring and 7 grandkids and 15 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: James Bobo, Ira Vernon Bobo and Bobby Bobo; sisters: Jeannie Darden, Era Horn and Winnie Dodson.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Shane Kemper-Foundation, PO Box 1713, Big Spring, TX 79721.
