Betty Wrinkle, 77, of Dallas, formerly of Big Spring, died on Thursday, August 28, 2003, in a Dallas nursing home. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, August 30, 2003 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel, Big Spring, with Rev. Dennis Teeters, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park, Big Spring. She was born on March 24, 1926, in Utica, Minnesota and married B. Winston Wrinkle on March 1, 1954 in Wichita Falls, Texas. He preceded her in death on January 19, 1983. Mrs. Wrinkle moved to Big Spring in 1959 from Minneapolis, Minnesota and then moved to Dallas in 1998. She was a member of First Baptist Church, a member of the Republican Women's Club, the Rose Garden Club, a supporter of the Humane Society, the Salvation Army and the Chamber of Commerce. She was a volunteer at the Big Spring State Hospital and a member of the research group Nursing Health Survey since the early 1980's. She had served as a First Lieutenant and was a nurse in the United States Air Force from June 23, 1952 to August 20, 1957. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Roger Dahlin of Carrollton; three sons and a daughter-in-law, John and Lynn Wrinkle of Carrollton, David Wrinkle of Arkansas and Robert Wrinkle of Dallas; a sister and brother-in-law, Marge and Forest Smith of Rushford, Minnesota; two granddaughters, Jennifer Dahlin and Emily Dahlin both of Carrollton and two grandsons, Willie Wrinkle and Charlie Wrinkle both of Carrollton. The family suggests memorials be made to the Big Spring State Hospital, P.O. Box 231, Big Spring, Texas 79721-0231. The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday at the funeral home.
