Betty Valiquette, 71, of Midland, died on Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at Midland Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, March 8, 2013, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel with Danny Bisvee, officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, March 7, 2013, at the funeral home. She was born on February 21, 1942, in Stanton and grew up in Big Spring and attended school there. She met and married the love of her life, Harland in 1958 and they were happily married for 40 years until his passing in 1998. Betty adored being with her family and loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren, making sure everyone always had what they needed. She always kept her family close, spoke her mind, and always shared the truth. Betty loved animals, especially her dog Honey. Everyone who knew Betty loved her dearly.Betty was also the number one Dallas Cowboys fan. Survivors include one daughter, Cecilia Ann Valiquette Pontremoli; one son, Harland Joseph Valiquette, both of Midland; two sisters, Media Cunningham of Big Spring and Jolene Trolinder Starrak of Coleman; a brother-in-law, Bob Kennedy of Big Spring; a sister-in-law, Carol Meek of Odessa; 3 grandchildren, LaShawna Cherie Moyer Chamblee of Coleman, Vanessa Gayle Moyer of Midland, and Terry Don Moyer of Espanola, New Mexico; and 6 great grandchildren, Joshua, Ashley, Brianna, Matthew, Kaitlin, and Courtney.Betty was also preceded in death by her parents; a brother, James Hollis Meek; and a sister, Reba Kennedy.The family suggests Memorials be made to the National West Texas Chapter for Multiple Sclerosis Society, 1031 Andrews Hwy, Midland TX 79701Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.
