The Lord has a new lady dancing and singing in heaven. Betty Ruth Lamb Heideman stepped into the Lord's presence on Monday, May 22, 2006, and into the arms of her favorite dance partner – her husband, Walter Heideman – who preceded her into heaven in 1991.Betty was born on November 19, 1926 in Fort Worth, Texas. She was the only child of Curtis and Pearl Lamb who were also waiting for her in heaven. The family moved to the Forsan area when Betty was a small child. She graduated from Forsan High School and took various courses in music and other subjects at Howard College.Walter and Betty met at an NCO Club dance at Webb Air Base in Big Spring, Texas. Wally was an Air Force serviceman from Wisconsin on assignment at Webb. The couple danced together for 44 years. They lived for a short time in Clovis, New Mexico before making their permanent home in Forsan. The couple both worked in Civil Service at Webb for over twenty-five years.Betty loved music and was an accomplished keyboard player and singer. She directed her church choir for many years. She and her daughter, Susan, attended the International Worship Institute in Dallas for eight years where they greatly enjoyed studying and worshipping together with students from around the world. They were part of the choir that produced three praise and worship CD's that allowed them to sing the Lord's praises internationally.Left to celebrate her life and to rejoice in her reunion with the Lord and her loved ones are her two daughters and sons-in-law, Van and Susan Gaston of Forsan and Tom and Diana Burns of Valdosta, Georgia; three grandchildren, Vance Gaston of Big Spring, Vanessa Garvin of Forsan and Shane Hare of Valdosta, Georgia; six great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.Services will be on Wednesday, May 24, 2006 at 2:00 PM at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Rev. Sammy Segundo, pastor of Family Faith Victory Center, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.The family suggests memorials be made to Family Faith Victory Center, 3401 E. 11th Place, Big Spring, Texas 79720.Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
