Spent much time with Betty during the 1990's. Don't remember what tear she left Comfort to be with her kids. We exchanged Christmas letters. Wish I had contacted her more. Was shocked to see that beautiful face in the newspaper. She was an angel. I loved our deep conversations, and her ability to understand and support me and others. I did meet her children, and know they carry that same spirit. My condolences and love, Juell

George and Meribeth, Was so saddened to hear about Betty. I just saw the obituary in the Comfort News. I will always cherish the memories I have of the two of us sitting around her kitchen table, sharing joys and hardships together. She was the kind of person that we should all aspire to be in her loyalty to friends and family. God bless you all and grant you peace and joy in holding on to your wonderful memories of her. Fondly, K. Martinez

George, Merribeth and famiies - I am so sorry to hear about your mother's death. She was always special to me from the time I met her in kindergarten at St. Mary's. I always thought that she was the most beautiful mother/teacher ever. :) She was always so sweet, and I loved coming over to the house. I know you will hold fast to your memories of your wonderful mother. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. May God hold you in His loving arms through this trying time. Love and Prayers, Kandis

Meribeth and George~ Thank you for letting me know about your mother. The last time I visited with her was the middle of October. She seemed to be doing better and we had a great visit. She told me numerous times how proud she was of her kids and how much she loved her grandkids. We worked together professionally and I realized how gifted she was by giving the extra time, talent and creativity to reach children with disabilities. I truly believe that there was not another teacher finer than your mother. She was a wonderful friend to me. I have been blessed to know such a beautiful person. Please know that your families are close in thought and prayer during this difficult time. Mike
