Betty Jean Poitevint “Mrs. Poitevint” “Betty” “Miss Betty” “Betty Spaghetti” “Grandma Betty” “Granny”, age 93, passed away Sunday, Oct. 8, 2023, in Snyder, Texas.
She was born on January 16, 1930, in Knott, Texas to Dan and Ione Adams and was sister to Charles Adams, Bill Adams, Preston Adams, and Edna Cates. She married Ellis G. Poitevint on October 25, 1958, in Pecos, Texas. Together they resided in Big Spring where they raised five children: David Poitevint (Linda) of Alpine, Stephen Poitevint (Cheryl) of Big Spring, Patricia Sims (Johnny) of Big Spring, Adrian Brown (Pamela) of Snyder, and Calvin Brown of Hawley.
Grandma Betty had six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson. Her grandchildren are Brian Poitevint of Lakeview, Cheryl Lynn Poitevint of Albuquerque, NM, Leanne Sosebee (Steve) of Amarillo, Jennifer Parnell (Roger) of Temple, Melissa Brown (John) of Liberty Hill and Chris Poitevint of Big Spring.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis G. Poitevint; and son, David Poitevint.
She retired from State National Bank as a Vice President after more than 30 years of service. She was a member of Birdwell Lane Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and served on the hospitality committee and as treasurer from time to time. She is well known for her fried pies and Sunday dinners after church. She enjoyed playing Skip-Bo, cooking for others, and doing word-search puzzles.

Funeral services will be held at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home in Big Spring, Texas on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. Graveside services will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.
