Betty J. Brumley, 78, of Colorado City, died on Thursday, March 27, 2008, in a Big Spring hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, March 29, 2008 at the First Baptist Church of Westbrook with Rev. David Nash, pastor, officiating. Graveside services will follow at 4:00 PM Saturday at Trinity Memorial Park, Big Spring.The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.She was born on March 28, 1929, in Stamford, Texas and married C. W. Brumley on May 17, 1947 in Big Spring.Betty was a resident of Stanton from 1955 to 1992, where she worked for Stanton ISD for 24 years, retiring in 1992. She and her husband then moved to Colorado City Lake.She was a member of First Baptist Church of Westbrook and a member of the J.O.Y. Sunday School Class.Survivors include her husband, C.W. Brumley of Colorado City; one son and daughter-in-law, Donnie and Vickie Thompson of Big Spring; one daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and John Hillje of Alpine; one brother, Jackie Cottongame of Big Spring; one sister, Sharon White of Big Spring; seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Christine Brumley; one son, Jerry W. Brumley; her parents, Jerry and Mary Cottongame, and one sister, Geneva Morton.
