Bessie Ruth Green, 96, of Lenorah, died on Thursday, October 25, 2012, at Manor Park in Midland. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, October 27, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church in Stanton with Rev. Monte Kreis, officiating.The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM TO 7:00 PM, Friday, October 26, 2012, at Gilbreath Funeral Home.Ruth was born in Roxton, Texas, September 26, 1916 to Wincie H. and Daisy Lillian Dale Maness. She graduated from Wellman High School. Ruth met the love of her life, Odee Green and was married April 25, 1936 in Brownfield. She was a farmer's wife and loved quilting. Ruth raised a garden every year and loved canning the vegetables she grew. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Stanton.She is preceded in death by her parents; her six brothers and sisters; her husband, Odee; two sons, J.D. Green and Bud Green; one grandson, Troy Gerdes; and one daughter-in-law, Shelia Green.Ruth is survived by her daughters, Bonnie Allred of Stanton, and Joyce Gerdes (Paul) of Weatherford and son, Lonnie Green of Stanton. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kevy and Nancy Allred of Early, Bimbo and Danon Allred of Stanton, Tamala and Todd Smith of Stanton, Trudy Deel and Lynette Lode of Weatherford, Darla and Bryan Henderson of Amarillo, Dale and Danny Green of Ft. Stockton, Sheryl and Kevin Huffman of McGregor, and Marty and Trish Green of Waco; 11 great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren.Arrangements under the direction of Gilbreath Funeral Home of Stanton.
