Bessie Lee Graham Woodard, 81, of San Angelo, formerly of Big Spring, died on Thursday, September 2, 2004, in a San Angelo nursing home. Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, September 4, 2004 at Mt. Olive Memorial Park with Derrick Looney, officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday at the funeral home.Mrs. Woodard was born on August 2, 1923, in Leander and came to West Texas as a young girl. She married Virgil F. Graham on May 23, 1938 and he preceded her in death on December 17, 1976. She married J. C. Woodard on February 3, 1978 and he preceded her in death on April 4, 1993. Bessie Lee and her late husband, Virgil Graham, farmed in the Ackerly community from 1938 to 1976. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Big Spring.She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Freddie James and Judy Graham of Tarzan; four daughters and sons-in-law, Virgie L. and Walton R. Burchell of Big Spring, Marie and Kirk Kirkham of Big Spring, Joyce Elaine and Randy King of Blythville, Arkansas, and Brenda Jean and Gary Riddle of San Angelo; twelve grandchildren, Joanna Rhoton, Randy Graham, Ray Burchell, Marianne Daily, Kim Kirkham, Kenneth Kirkham, Kyla Willey, Randy Marion King, Brian King, Brandon Riddle, Kyle Riddle and Amanda Doty, sixteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.The family would like to thank the Meadow Creek Nursing Center staff and the staff of VistaCare Hospice for the wonderful care extended to our Mother.The family suggests memorials be made to VistaCare Hospice, 940 B Arroyo Drive, San Angelo, Texas 76903.Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
