Bernie L. Spinks, 79, of Stanton, died on Sunday, July 10, 2005, in a Midland hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, July 13, 2005 at the First Baptist Church Stanton with Kenneth Buchanan with Alamo Heights Baptist Church in Midland, officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 12, from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.She was born on January 2, 1926, in Rule, Texas and married Guy Spinks on September 22, 1945 in Ft. Woth, Texas. He preceded her in death on October 13, 2004.Bernie was a longtime resident of Stanton. She and Guy opened Guy's Restaurant in 1985 and operated it until 1999. She had worked for Mims & Stephens Insurance Company in Midland for over 27 years.Bernie was an active volunteer with the Martin County Hospital Auxiliary and was also avtive with the Stanton Art Club. She loved to paint and her art was her passion. Bernie was a loving Mother and Meemaw.She was a member of First Baptist Church.Survivors include two sons & daughters-in-law, Danny and Joni Spinks of Midland and Tracey and Sheryl Spinks of Stanton; three daughters, Lou A. Pearson of Midland, Jeannine S. Celey and Tim Cain of Midland and Stacey Spinks and her fiance Tim Bryand of Stanton; five grandchildren, Jared Spinks of Austin, Jennifer Spinks of Midland Taylor Spinks, Kali Spinks and Kenzi Spinks all of Stanton; one great grandchild, Maci Spinks of Midland; and her sister-in-law and best friend, Nita Hamilton of Stanton. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister. The family suggests memorials to: Home Hospice of Midland, 901 W.
