Bernice Hanson Davis, 92, of Big Spring, died on September 30, 2003, in the Odessa Hospice House Facility. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, October 2, 2003 at Mt. Olive Memorial Park, with Rev. Matt Miles, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church and Rev. Flynn Long , retired Presbyterian minister, officiating. Mrs. Davis was born on August 30, 1911, in El Paso, and married Sidney Albert Davis on January 21, 1932, in Lovington, New Mexico. He preceded her in death on December 4, 1972. She was a homemaker and she and her late husband farmed and ranched in Howard and Martin Counties. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and a member of the Big Spring Chapter #67, Order of the Eastern Star, and the Social Order of Beauceants. She was active in the Home Demonstration Club for many years. Survivors include two nieces, Carol Sneed of Big Spring, and Judith Gray of Las Vegas, Nevada; six nephews, Gary Hanson and Terry Hanson both of Big Spring, Richard Moore III of Greenburg, North Carolina, Mike Moore of El Paso, Wilson "Buzz" Monroe of Las Vegas, Nevada and Warren Schulte. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, one brother and one nephew.
