Bernice Hannah Williams1926 ? 2008Hannah passed away on February 23rd following a long struggle with Alzheimer's disease.Hannah was born on September 3, 1926 in Malvern, Arkansas. She grew up on a farm outside Bay, Arkansas and graduated from Bay High School. After World War II, she met and fell in love with Jesse Gordon Williams. They married on November 13, 1947 and moved to Little Rock where Gordon worked for AT&T. Hannah and Gordon enjoyed over 30 years of marriage until Gordon's untimely passing in 1979. His death left her with a terrible sense of loss but true to her indomitable spirit, Hannah live and worked on her own terms for 22 years before illness ended her independence.Hannah loved to fish, to cook, to play bingo, to shop, to sing and dance, to visit with family and to spoil her grandchildren. She worked for K-Mart for nearly 30 years before retiring in 1998. Hannah rarely passed up a good blue light special.She is survived by her son, Stephen Williams and wife, Pam, her daughter, Jessica Carlile and husband. Jimmy (Pete), her two grandchildren, Justin Carlile and wife, Jamie and Julianna Carlile. A simple graveside memorial will take place at Pine Crest Memorial Park in Alexandria, Arkansas on Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at 10:00 AM.In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made in Hannah's memory to the Outreach Program at Fairmont Park Church of Christ, 3813 N Midland DR, Midland, TX 79707.Local arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.
