Ben H. Wiggington, Jr., 80, of Big Spring, died on Friday, January 30, 2004, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 3, 2004 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Rev. Dennis Teeters, pastor First Baptist Church of Big Spring and Rev. T. O. Parsons, retired Nazarene minister, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.He was born on December 14, 1923, in Cooperton, Oklahoma and married Iris M. Walker on October 24, 1942 in Hobart, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death on August 17, 1995.Ben was a member of First Baptist Church.He had served his country in the United States Marine Corp during World War II. He moved to Big Spring in 1954 and worked for McQuire Oil Co. as a pumper for 36 1/2 years. He was a member of the Elks Club and loved fishing, boxing and NASCAR racing.Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Carolyn Chapman of Big Spring, Maurine and Gale Pittman of Big Spring; two grandchildren, Kyle Chapman and wife Crystal of Lubbock and Desire Freshour and husband David of Big Spring; three great grandchildren, Cody, Iris and Eric Freshour of Big Spring; one sister and brother-in-law, Naomia and Rev. T. O. Parsons of Wichita Falls and a beloved friend, Nell Nitzsche of Roscoe. The family will receive friends from 7-8 PM, Monday, February, 2, 2004, at the funeral home.The family suggests memorials to the American Heart Association, 3205 W. Cuthbert, Ste. A-8.
