Barbara Jarrell

Barbara Jarrell, 88, of Big Spring, Texas graduated from earth to Heaven, Thursday, November 20, 2025. She will lie in state Sunday, November 23, 2025 from 1:00 pm until 9:00 pm with the family receiving friends from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, November 24, 2025 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with pastor Doug Shelley officiating.  Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.

Barbara was born in Bay Minnette, Alabama on January 20, 1937 and married Melvin Jarrell December 25, 1981. The mother of three daughters and one deceased son Clarence Whitsitt Jr., Deborah Barree, Patricia Snowden (Gary), Linda Lanier (Joe). Stepmother of Melvins three children Royce, Jarrell, Dewayne Jarrell and Theresa Harris. Grandmother of 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 2 great great-grandchildren, and 14 step grandchildren.

Barbara is survived by three daughters Deborah Barree, Patricia Snowden and husband Gary, Linda Lanier and husband Joe, one stepson Royce Jarrell, and a brother Ellis and wife Mary.

She was preceded in death by her husband Melvin, the father of her children Clarence (Bud) Whitsitt, one son Clarence Whitsitt Jr, son-in-law Joe Barree, granddaughter Kristy Loveday, grandson David Mikels, stepdaughter Theresa Harris, stepsons Dewayne Jarrell and Willie Harris, four brothers and her parents and parents-in-laws Jess and Viola Whitsitt.
