Barbara Haston Daily, 81, of Big Spring, died on Wednesday, February 5, 2003, in a local hospital. Graveside funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, February 8, 2003, at Mt. Olive Memorial Park with Rev. Dennis Teeters, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. She was born on January 12, 1922 in Waxahachie, Texas and married Orbin Homer Daily, Sr. on October 10, 1937 in Big Spring, Texas. He preceded her in death on October 3, 2002. Barbara came to Big Spring in 1934 from Colorado City. She had owned Tandy Leathershop and had worked for the City of Big Spring, retiring in 1975. She was a member of First Baptist Church. Barbara was a Past Worthy Matron of Big Spring Chapter #67, Order of the Eastern Star and of Laura B. Hart Chapter #1019, Order of the Eastern Star in Big Spring. She was a Past Royal Matron of the Order of Amaranth, Alamagordo, New Mexico and Past Grand Royal Matron, Grand Court, Order of Amaranth, New Mexico. She was a member of the Order of the Kentucky Colonels and an Honorary Colonel. She was a member and past President of the Social Order of Beauceant #211, Big Spring and was Past Mother Advisor of the Rainbow Girls. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Barbara Ann and Charles Russell of Big Spring; one son, Orbin (Bob) Daily, Jr. of Big Spring; four grandchildren, Tina and Bob Fitzgibbons of Big Spring, Karla Daily and Jence Cantu both of Houston and Janiece and Stephen Ferrell of Lewisville; five great grandchildren; and one daughter-in-law, Paula Shelburne of Coahoma. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the First Baptist Church Organ Fund or Food Pantry, 705 West FM 700, Big Spring, Texas 79720.
