Barbara Ruth Davidson Ramage, age 91, was called home by her heavenly Father on August 17, 2018, in Plano, TX. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, August 22, 2018, at 10:00 AM at the Fairview Cemetery in Midland. Celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 8, at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Carrollton, TX.Barbara was born on May 4, 1927, to Willie Mabel Koonce and Benjamin Harrison Davidson in Sweetwater, TX. Barbara grew up in Sweetwater and Midland, graduating from Midland High School in 1944. Barbara was the youngest of 5 children, and grew up during the Depression. She was quite the tomboy, following her 3 older brothers everywhere. After graduating from high school, Barbara worked as a secretary. It was during this time, while working at Bethlehem Steel Company, that she met the love of her life, Bruce Ramage. They met in March, 1948, became engaged in June, and married in August. Barbara was a homemaker. When her children were still at home, she was involved with their school activities, and also volunteered as a candy striper and a tour guide in historic Bethlehem, PA. She and Bruce enjoyed time with friends and family. She was a very loyal, loving, and generous person. She was very spirited and loved to laugh! After her husband passed away, Barbara spent most of her remaining years caring for family members as the need arose.She is survived by her daughters Elizabeth Ann Ramage, Fayetteville, AR, and Margaret Ellen Ramage (Tom Sims), Dallas, TX; two grand-daughters, Tracey Lynne Cheek (Jeff Love), Edmond, OK, and Laurie Dawn Smith (Jason), Georgetown, TX; five grandchildren, Jacob and Michaela Love, and Travis, Case, and A.J. Smith; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Bruce; her parents; her siblings, Billy R. Davidson, Robert E. Davidson, Nell Taggart, and B. H. Davidson; nephew Daryl Davidson and great-niece Pam Ramage Pianowski; and by all her in-laws.The family wishes to express thanks to everyone for their prayers, love, and support, and to the excellent caregivers at L & S Home Care in Plano and Total Hospice and Palliative Care in Richardson, TX.In lieu of flowers, Barbara requested donations be made to one's charity of choice.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.
