Augusta Lavinia Walker, 100, of Coahoma, died Thursday, April 26, 2018 at her residence. Graveside services will be 10:00 AM Monday, April 30, 2018 at the Peace Chapel at Trinity Memorial Park with Chaplain Brad Daniels officiating.The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM Sunday, April 29, 2018 at the funeral home.She was born June 1, 1917 in Jack County, Texas. She worked at Big Spring State Hospital for over 20 years, retiring in 1979. Lavinia was a member of Salem Baptist Church and worked in the nursery for 20 years. She read her Bible daily and enjoyed reading, playing dominos and gardening.Survivors include two sons, Ronnie Walker and wife, Debbie of Sand Springs, and Danny Walker and wife, Gay Nell of Coahoma; three daughters, LaBeth Montgomery and husband, Clyde, and Wanda McMurray and husband, Earl all of Big Spring, and Charlotte Buchanan of Coahoma; 13 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Orella Brooks Lowe; two brothers, Franklin Lowe and Elbert Lowe; and a great-granddaughter, Jessica Jones.The family suggests memorials to the donor’s favorite charity.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home and Crematory.
