Auda Vee Graham, 85, of Ackerly, died on Saturday, August 8, 2009, in Midland. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM Monday, August 10, 2009 at the First Baptist Church Ackerly with Rev. Ray McMorris, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park Big Spring. The family will receive friends from 2 PM to 4 PM Sunday at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. He was born on April 24, 1924, in Abilene, Texas and married Hattie Mae Wiggins on March 22, 1947 in Big Spring, Texas. Auda Vee served his country in the United States Army during World War II, serving in China, Burma and India with the 124th Cavalry. He was a soldier in the Mars Task Force and was a recipient of two Purple Hearts. His family moved to the Big Spring area in 1927. He farmed in the Ackerly area and was a deacon in the First Baptist Church of Ackerly. Survivors include wife, Hattie Mae Graham of Ackerly; one son, Rickey Graham of Odessa; one daughter and son-in-law, Dorinda and Max Hill of Rowlett; two grandsons, Brady Hill of Rowlett and Ryan Graham of Altus, Oklahoma; two granddaughters, Whytnee Graham of Odessa and Bronwyn Hill of Abilene; three great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Nora Dean of Idalou and several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, known as "Uncle Bud" and "Aunt Kate", three brothers and four sisters.
