Aubrey D. Conway

Aubrey D. Conway, 75, of Hobbs, New Mexico, formerly of Big Spring, died on Thursday, July 15, 2004, at his residence after a long battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, July 20, 2004 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.He was born on January 2, 1929, in Goldthwaite, Texas and married Betty Jane Posey on May 22, 1960 in Big Spring. She preceded him in death on March 17, 1994.Mr. Conway came to Big Spring in 1935 with his family. He drove a taxi cab in Big Spring for many years. Aubrey moved to Hobbs two years ago to live with his daughter. He was a lifetime member of the Church of Christ and had served in the United States Navy.Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Clifton Calvert of Hobbs, New Mexico; one sister, LaVelle of California; one brother, Doyle of Big Spring; one granddaughter, Schemickia Crosby of Big Spring; one step-granddaughter, Arcie Calvert of Odessa; one grandson, Robert Calvert of Hobbs, New Mexico; five great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, four brothers, one sister, twin children, and two granddaughters.
